The FSSF group has a long gaming history in some well known clans. The most recent was Berringer and Skeeters Renegade Warriors Alliance (rwa), a COD UO competitive clan competing in all ladders. This group is where the FSSF Co-Founders met.
When United Offensive was basically dead, and COD2 being what many considered terrible, rwa moved into a new genre. It was during this time that Canuck (the lead admin and webmaster) and REIS (a member later promoted to admin) decided to stick with United Offensive and take a try at running a clan. This was supported by Berringer who we have always kept in touch with and consider a good friend.
We decided to name our new UO Clan FSSF in honor of the Real Life WWII group. Canuck had always wanted the name and is a student of the FSSF history. Just like the real Devils Brigade (Canadian & U.S. Elite Forces) Canuck is Candian and REIS is in the U.S. Our server was a small AWE 2.12 Mod that saw minimal activity but was a great learning experience and a blast to play on for us.
When COD4 came out our popularity grew and so did our servers. We began adding the ACE mod as part of our gaming experience and some new members. We even took a try at the Ladders until TWL required what many felt an invasion of the PC.
Our group was commisioned on August 2007 and continued into 2009 however, running the group, keeping up with all the new maps and mods, financial burdens, website and internal conficts left the co-founders feeling negative and in much need of a break. The decision was made to shutdown however we still had 3 servers. Canuck was relaxing a little by doing more work, and REIS stayed off all the mod/map sites. We both stayed away from our servers.
During this time, we both played on various servers but ended up spending much of our gaming time on Reaper & Vixens DM server. We made some very good friends in their group and basically found a place we liked playing.
As many know, REIS is addicted to the Mods and new maps. It only took one download and he was itching to go again. So we either try one more time or basically shutdown the empty servers and move on.
So we give you the Black Devils. A small but dedicated group that wants to just play and have fun.
